Grand Gulf State Park is a wonderful park. Guest can step back in time and see some old structures that have been preserved from different parts of Claiborne County. Also on site is a museum, picnic area, and camper pads. 

natchez trace

Port Gibson on the Natchez Trace

The Natchez Trace was a trail once used by flat boatmen who would float there goods down to Natchez. Once there, these men would sell the wood of their boats and return by walking the the Trace to Nashville. The original Trace came  through the middle of Port Gibson. 

There many wonderful stops along the Port Gibson section of the Trace
